OUR CARE

Blackbrook House was created to provide a caring environment for mobile, elderly people and our aim is to help residents enjoy a new and happy chapter of their lives. We have based our philosophy and our atmosphere on families and a caring family environment. When people come to Blackbrook House, they become part of a caring family house with an open door communications policy and individually tailored care. We offer Residential, Respite and Day Care.

HISTORY

Formerly known as Blackbrook Place, John Barton was the original owner of the Blackbrook Estate which stretched on either side of The Avenue as far as Gudge Heath Lane and its tollgate. Built with Beaulieu Brick, the interior originally included a magnificent library, marble mantelpiece, plus twenty bedrooms. There were lots of Bartons in the Fareham area at the time - they also lived in Cams Hall.

A Warm Welcome

We do everything we can to minimise the feelings of uncertainty when people come to Blackbrook House. We offer Residential, Respite and Day Care and we are more than happy to invite you and your family to come and visit us for a few hours to explore the house and grounds and to get a feel of the friendly, warm atmosphere at Blackbrook House.

We offer a planned, staggered entry into our home so that people can slowly wind into the residential care environment. This makes the whole transition much less daunting and more enjoyable for the whole family.

We are extremely proud of Blackbrook House and believe we have created something quite unique with elderly people in mind. The concept is of a family home with a friendly, flexible and caring atmosphere. When people come to live at Blackbrook, they become part of a big family house with individual care and an “open door” communication policy at all times.

We think that this will be a new happy chapter in every resident’s life, allowing them to feel part of something, making friends of their own generation and taking part in meaningful activities.

We are very flexible and want our residents to think of their room like an apartment with individualised living spaces - why not have tea served in your room? If residents want to they can even have trips in our luxury car and get out and about, to appointments or to the seaside in style!

We recently restored a historic part of Blackbrook House meaning we've a dedicated space for respite care. You can find out more by clicking here.

Our Day Care users are welcome to stay with us between 8am to 6pm for a whole day or half day. We offer this service for the long or short term. Always feel free to contact Julie our Registered Manager to discuss your particular requirements on 01329 280 573.
